COVID-19: It's Affects on the Short-Term Rental Industry

This is a crazy-surreal time right now, isn't it? I was thinking how this ruthless coronavirus is impacting the world: physically, economically, and socially. I can't think of anyone who has dodged the hit of COVID-19: death of family members, stock market loss, business closings, special event cancelations, long awaited trips canceled. The most common affect the virus has had is the sense of uncertainty; it definitely warrants for pause and a collective sense of reality. What now?

As a relatively new Airbnb host I am mindful to how I need to proceed especially in the next handful of months; protecting not only Jack and myself, but those guests who stay here at the ROOST. I read a few articles today that address two relative topics as an Airbnb host: cancellation policy and protecting yourself and guests from illnesses. This information will be helpful as Jack and I move forward as hosts, and as you prepare to move forward with future travel plans.

Please note, if you want to come visit our modern guest barn retreat we would love to have you stay with us. We will be implementing social distance (waves and smiles from across the lawn) and be assured our guest barn will be prepared with the utmost care for your safety and well being.

As I wrote in a recent Instagram post: As long as we have each together, we'll get through this.
