Oh Dita, I can hardly imagine such a thing! I absolutely LOVE peaches, and for those who don't, well I don't think we can be friends.
I have a semi-dwarf peach tree LOADED with hundreds of peaches. And no, I am not exaggerating. LOADED! So, I got creative and made a bunch of peach stuff. With the recent launching of the ROOST Guest Barn I thought it would be fun to make my guests some interesting peach concoctions: Peach Basil Jam, Peach Rum Sauce, Peach Fruit Leather, and this morning I attempted to make a Peach Basil Fruit Leather (verdict is still out on that one as the batch is working it's magic in my 225 degree oven).
A big shout out to my Grandma Anna for teaching me how to can. If she was still alive I would apologize for griping and moaning about having to help her in that hot kitchen (no AC). What does a 14 year old teenager know anyway? I certainly could not have predicted all those years ago that this would become a passionate activity. So Grandma, thank you.
